Something I'm starting notice in my couples who choose to elope- is that they originally hadn't planned to. Between trying to find the best place in the mountains to celebrate, Taylor and Justin ended up switching their British Columbia wedding, for a day spent together in Calgary and Kananaskis with their pup, Mashed Potato. We spent the afternoon walking downtown outside their hotel after Taylor got her hair done (*by Jessie Liao Hair*), La Jermain, and then made our way to the Rocky Mountains on a quest to find the best spot for their intimate ceremony. We ended up finding the perfect sun soaked spot on the shores of Upper Lakes Kananaskis for the exchange, and then followed to the surrounding meadows for a picnic filled with chicken nuggets, caramel apples, cake (made by her aunt), champagne and lots of polaroid photos.
As the sun dropped behind the peaks, the alpenglow was the perfect background for their first dance, and set the stage for a few Saskatchewan traditional songs (paying homage to Taylor's family) like The Last Saskatchewan Pirate to dance and finish the champagne to! They laid amongst the beautifully curated picnic, listening to all their favorite music, and snapping photos of one another as they each saw.
Feeling so so blessed to photograph these intimate mountain elopements, or any celebration that simply feels good to you, and taking care of you the best way I know how is something I'll always adore. All my love! "Beth is authentic, genuine and she has YOU as her focus when working with her. We had so much fun and didn't want her to leave our big day. I was blessed to spend it with her. After getting back our photos I am blown away. She is worth EVERY single penny. Honestly, I think she should charge more. The experience was so amazing. Blown away."
