Being a photographer near Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis and the general Canadian Rocky Mountains is something I'll never quit appreciating, but one thing that comes with those locations as well as my home base of Calgary, Alberta- is that the plethora of unreal locations and couples is never in shortage.
But ohhhhh baby small town, long time lovers give me a different kind of goosebumps.
Tessa + Taylor are from a little town in central Alberta almost dead centre between Edmonton and Calgary, called Lacombe and it just happens to be my hometown. Not only did they “meet” as Tessa happened to be watching Taylor play hockey for the Wranglers in the next town over, but she also told me that “he won me over quickly with his weird beard and missing teeth”. Only years later, after doing years of distance, on Christmas Eve eve, after driving around that same town looking at the holiday lights for a few hours, “T was on one knee…..he had a frog in his throat and then we were engaged but I blacked out for the rest.”
Some of the sweetest words about them from Tessa sound like, “I am always so grateful that he convinced me to try and make long distance work. I didn't have much hope but he sure knew how to make my heart hold onto him. We spent that entire year long distance seeing one another periodically but constantly planning for the future.” Their future from that point forward has been full of motorcycle rides, walks with their puppy, buying a home, an unreal trip to Iceland (which Taylor said was the icing on the cake and sealed the deal for him), and lots and lots of pizza from their favorite joint, Famoso. But if you're wanting to read the sweetest words about the session itself and how they felt, check out their review on my Google page!
T + T, I am so fkn ecstatic to be able to be the person who captured the moments following your engagement, and even more so I can not wait to witness your wedding day along side two people I’ve come to adore, appreciate and admire so so much.
Thank you for reminding me that it's the best to be with someone:
Who challenges you.
Who makes you a better person.
Who can make you laugh.
Who is thoughtful in unexpected ways.
Who is humble AND hardworking.
Who make us feel so loved and so safe.
Who is fun-
And who inspires you by being everything you are not.
Your intimate, backyard, summer wedding can’t come soon enough and I can't wait<3 Head to the bottom of the post to read what they had to say!
"I don't even know where to begin with Beth. She is such an incredible photographer - you won't find anyone like her. Her photos are stunning that is no surprise, and a quick Instagram search will tell you that. We have had Beth capturing our big moments for years and we so appreciate that she can capture us just as we are. The special thing about Beth is that she is a genuinely good human and this shows in her work and the connections she makes with her clients. She takes the time to get to know who you are as a couple and separately. The photo sessions are so easy with zero feelings of judgement and you really feel like you can be yourselves - she creates a feeling that you will remember every time you look back at your photos! She has even been a huge help with planning our wedding! We have enjoyed many laughs and happy tears over photos and stories. We are so grateful for this friendship and can't wait to have Beth photograph all of our big moments. We wouldn't want anyone else there with us!"
