Being a photographer near Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis and the general Canadian Rocky Mountains is something I'll never quit appreciating, but one thing that comes with those locations as well as my home base of Calgary, Alberta- is that the weather can get pretty cold, pretty quick!
Elizabeth + Taylor are a wedding couple of mine for this coming summer *HOPEFULLY THANKS COVID* and they knew they wanted their engagement session to differ from their mountain view wedding day and chose to do them within the city of Calgary, and in the winter. Without knowing that their session would fall directly in the middle of week during the coldest snap of the year, we booked in to see each other in February. The week leading up to the session, not only were we cold, but we were excited to finally meet and get the opportunity to take their engagement photos and have some alone time since their one year old keeps them occupied most of the time. The day before, we pulled the metaphorical trigger and decided to go ahead and shoot and just have as much fun as the weather would allow. I created their playlist for the session so we could at least groove out while we froze in the -35, and filled it with the likes of The Arkells + Wiz Khalifa and from that point on I knew I was going to want to third wheel them foreverrrrrr.
I'll forever love being a wedding and engagement photographer in Calgary, but know that the 2021 winter vortex had nothing on these two and their Calgary engagement session, and I can't wait until I get the opportunity to photograph them again on their wedding day!!! Read below on a little tid bit Elizabeth shared on the time we spent together! "We love love LOVE our engagement photos and are beyond grateful for capturing us as we see ourselves. I absolutely love your style and feel so good about having you as our photographer!"
To note that I'm booking couples + engagement sessions into May + June! So if you've been thinking of reaching out + are wanting to press pause on your moments- shoot me a message on my booking page down on my contract form! xxxxx
